Experts: Hackers lose interest to Russia as country sees less DDoS

MOSCOW, Aug 29 (PRIME) -- Russia fell to the lowest rank in the top 10 countries by the number of DDoS in January–June from the third position a year earlier because politically-driven hackers lost interest and lack technical capacities and resources, research company StormWall said on Tuesday in a statement.

“In January–June 2022, Russia was third by DDoS attacks in the world, accounting for 8.9% of the total number, in January–June 2023, it was on the 10th position, accounting for 4.7% of the total,” StormWall said.

Hackers turned to Spain and the United Arab Emirates.

The top three countries by attacks were the U.S., India, and China.
